Donald Bernard Louis

Donald Bernard Louis passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family, who spent his final moments sharing stories, laughter, and memories of a life well lived.

Don was the beloved husband of LeAnn Louis (née Carron). They were united in marriage on May 11, 1957, sharing nearly seven decades of partnership, commitment, and enduring love.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that truly reflected his sense of duty.

Don was a devoted father to his children: Linda (Tom Ferris), Karen (Mike Koehneman), Greg (Nancy Stiffler), Paul (Lori Shambro) and Bill (Laura Howie).

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Joel Koehneman, Dave Koehneman, Bryan Ferris, Marc Ferris, Rob Koehenman, Dylan Louis, Jesse Louis Barnard, Zach Louis, McKenzie Louis, Aidan Louis, and Max Louis. He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Don had a gift for connecting with people—he never met a stranger, and to him, life was always an adventure. He will also be fondly remembered as a longtime and passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, often referring to them with his trademark humor as the “hapless Cards,” while never hesitating to voice his spirited opinions on their management.

Above all, Don will be remembered for his willingness to help those in need, warmth, his strong presence, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His life was a testament to loyalty, resilience, and finding joy in the everyday moments.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral mass will be held at Immacolata Catholic Church (8900 Clayton Road St Louis, MO 63117) at 10:00 on Friday, May 8, 2026. Visitation will be immediately before mass in the entry way of the church from 9:00 – 9:45. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be at 12:30.
