Danielle Tyrey Flores, age 52, of Fenton, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025. She was beloved wife to Tony and mother to Tyler, Gabrielle and Brittany. She was a darling daughter to Daniel and Trudy, and stepfather Dirk, a beloved sister to Bridget and Andrew and a special friend to all who knew her.
Danielle aspired to leave the world a better place than she found it, and she did. Improving the lives of those with bleeding disorders was her hobby, passion and career path. She raised thousands of dollars for programming and research, was a fierce advocate for access to treatment and care for 30 years, helped a whole new generation of parents navigate the challenges that come with these disorders, and, alongside her sister, started a camp for kids with bleeding disorders in St. Louis that celebrates its 16th year this summer. Danielle also worked with her local community to support homeless youth by providing clothes, school supplies, and shelter to those in need.
In her free time, Danielle loved to travel, especially to Miami to visit her grandson, Beau, whom she loved more than anything. She had a story for all 39 states she had traveled to and a friend in all 50. If you measured her wealth in Love, there would be no one richer than her. Danielle had an array of talents, and it was a privilege to see them on display. Her creative mind and niche for writing were something to be envious of. She was also a bit of a musical connoisseur and had the most diverse musical library of anyone. That, paired with her extreme competitiveness, made her the most desireable music trivia partner.
Danielle's most important legacy was her ability to self-advocate, which she helped many others to do. Although she was only diagnosed with liver cancer in 2022, Danielle struggled with health issues nearly all her life. She regularly said that she would not have lived as long as she did if she was not such an educated patient and a strong advocate for herself. If she could leave this world with one piece of advise, it would be just that. As she always said, you know your body better than anyone, so make sure that you stand up for it.
"Life's short. Be a legend"
Should you feel inclined, we are asking for donations to be made to Danielle's favorite charity, Gateway Hemophilia Association. This organization is closest to her heart & it would mean the world to her to have donations made in her honor.
