Bonnie Jean Zeiszler arrived at her eternal home…
Bonnie was born January 16, 1942, to Reinhold and Bertha (Albrecht) Huber in Garrison, North Dakota. Bonnie had a twin sister, Betty Jane Huber. Five years later, brother Larry Allen joined them. They attended school in Garrison. During high school Bonnie babysat for family friends, and at the age of 13 she began working as a carhop at a neighborhood drive-in. Throughout her early career she also worked as a waitress in an aunt’s restaurant. She later obtained work at the Garrison Hospital, Bob’s Steak House, and finally in the last two years of high school she worked as a cashier at Fredericks Variety Store on Main Street. In December of her Senior year, a surprise arrived, a baby sister, Karen Beth. Bonnie graduated from Garrison High School in May 1960.
Bonnie met her forever friend, Clarence Zeiszler in 1955. They attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church, active in Walther League and other social activities. Although Clarence had jobs on farms, in other areas, they kept in touch with letters and phone calls. At the age of 16, he presented her with a Christmas gift of a beautiful diamond ring, with a promise to finish high school and be joined together in marriage in June 1960.
They set up their first home together in Bismarck. All four of their children; Leslie Jo, David Allen, Daniel Lee and Debra Sue were born in Bismarck. In 1970, they packed up their family with their belongings and headed West. At the invitation of Bonnie’s Uncle Mel they settled in Anaheim, California. Clarence worked a short while for Uncle Mel at Knotts Berry Farm and Bonnie began a new adventure in Banking.
In 1975 the family moved to beautiful San Diego as a transfer with Clarence’s company. Bonnie was also able to transfer with her bank in the Audit department. San Diego was a wonderful home for over 15 years. The couple decided to move to Las Vegas, where three of their four children also resided. While living in Las Vegas, close to all four of their children, the couple were blessed with five grandchildren and later three great grandchildren.
During the next 30 years Clarence and Bonnie made several moves to explore areas of Northern California, Washington, Oregon, and Wisconsin. Bonnie retired after 35 years in banking and settled in Reno, Nevada. After several years they decided to move to Spearfish, South Dakota to be near her only surviving sibling, Karen and husband Dan Eisnezimmer. However sensing life was running short, Clarence and Bonnie made the decision to move in with daughter Debbi and family, in Hazelwood, MO, September 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years- Clarence, her parents, sister Betty Huber, brother Larry Huber, son Danny, one grandson, William Beene, brothers-in-law: Leroy, and Loren Zeiszler.
