

April D. Pruitt, a trailblazer and a beloved "member of our family passed away" on Tuesday June17th, 2025. In her youth April expressed and had a passion to be baptized at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. As the first African American stockbroker at A.G. Edwards in Washington, DC., April broke barriers and inspired many with her dedication and vision. She continued to make an impact throughout her career as a Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank.
April attended elementary school in Brentwood, Missouri and high school at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, Ladue, Missouri. She also attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Her educational journey was just one of many steps in a life full of achievements.
April had a profound love for music by performing a Mezzo-Soprano and singing Slave Spirituals also known as Negro Spirituals she proudly shared with everyone around her. She was a loving family member and devoted pet owner to her two cats, Hoss and Allie.
April's spirit of generosity, her commitment to excellence, and her love for life will continue to inspire us all. April demonstrated service throughout her life recently helping women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She had a sincere love for people and deep appreciation for the spoken language. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering support for her friends were the hallmark of a remarkable life. April was also the host of her own podcast called "Living in Mid-Bloom" on Amazon Exclusive, and the founder of a successful greeting card company called Prucheek.
April was preceded in death by her loving father Edwin Pruitt, Jr., mother Earlene Price and stepfather Willie Frank Price. She leaves behind a sister Debra J. Pruitt, aunts, cousins, fiends and close community of neighbors, she trusted and greatly adored. April leaves behind a legacy of resilience, compassion, and a love for life that will continue to resonate with all who knew her. April's family and friends would like to also thank the dedicated Doctors, and other staff members at Missouri Baptist Hospital who provided excellent care in her final moments of life here on earth. April suffers no more and her soul is at rest with our Heavenly Father. Amen
