She graduated from Spurger High School in 1961. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1965 with a degree in Library Science.
Her first job was head librarian at the Fort Bend County Library in Rosenberg, Texas. She returned to TWU to earn her Master’s in Library Science in 1972. She worked for the State Library System of Arizona. While living in Phoenix she helped establish the Rape Crisis hotline where she also volunteered.
In 1982 he moved to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas where her parents lived, working in McAllen until the death of her mother in 1985. During those years she was a volunteer at the Family Crisis Center.
Sharon then took a position with the San Patricio County library and lived in Sinton. She moved to Corpus Christi to work as a librarian with the Naval Air Station until her retirement in 2008. After retirement she helped with the food bank through her church.
She was preceded in death by their her mother, Dale Faires Scott, and her father, Travis L. Scott.
She is survived by her her two sisters , Donna (Gary) Bogema of Danbury, Texas, Jana (Tom) Vick of Midlothan, Texas. Neices and nephews: Scott Bogema, Wendy Bogema, Jason Bogema, Jeff (Dalton) Vick, Travis (Katie) Vick, Joy (Eric) Hadden, and great nieces and nephews: Layton Bogema, Brycen Bogema, Brynna Bogema, Andrew Vick, Caroline Vick, Collin Vick, Travis Hadden, Tyler Hadden, and Wren Hadden.Sharon is also survived by dear friends Steven Young, Andea DeBravo, and Betty Lou Dalton who cared for her in her final years.

Sharon was a true bibliophile, always with her nose in a book! She loved her “fur babies” and had several dogs throughout her life from a French poodle to Schnauzers. Sharon was a 20-year breast cancer survivor.
