With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Robert Castro, who entered eternal rest on October 22, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on October 2, 1955, in Kingsville, Texas, Robert lived a life defined by faith, generosity, hard work, and devotion to his family.
Robert was a man of wisdom and compassion who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a servant’s heart and was known for giving freely, often sharing the last of what he had with those he loved. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ guided his life, and he found great joy in sharing the Word of the Lord with others. Robert had a special gift for knowing just what to say to make someone smile and feel encouraged.
A graduate of H.M. King High School, Robert spent many years working in the oil and gas industry before enjoying a well-earned retirement for the past decade. He was a dedicated worker whose strong work ethic and character earned the respect of all who knew him.
Robert was a faithful member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and often spoke of them with love and admiration.
He enjoyed the simple blessings of life: fishing, tending to his yard and plants, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and taking Sam’s Club runs with his dear friend, Robert Ramirez. These everyday moments brought him happiness and created cherished memories for those fortunate enough to share them with him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Maria G. Castro and Federico G. Castro Jr., as well as his sister, Anna M. Castro.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Cynthia S. Castro. He is also survived by his son, Roberto Manuel Castro and wife Celeste Estrella Hernandez Castro; his daughter, Sarah Marie Garza and husband Alberto Lopez Garza; his siblings, Sylvia Castro, Alma Clauson (Kent Clauson), Gloria Y. Castro, Lizbeth Kurtin (Ryan Kurtin), and Fred Castro.
Robert’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Keian Noah Castro, Kodi Emmanuel Castro, Remi Moses Castro, Hillivan Alexander Harper, Hallanie Nichol Harper, and Maximilliano Garza, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Robert’s faith has carried him home. His kindness, wisdom, laughter, and steadfast love for God and family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a beautiful example of generosity, humility, and devotion, and his memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all friends and loved ones who have provided support and comfort during this difficult time. Special thanks to St. Martin Catholic Church and Mario Cantu with Neptune Society for their guidance, care, and assistance with the arrangements.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Robert’s love, faith, and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
