Olga Marie Koblizek Wang, 88, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025. She was born on November 24, 1936, the daughter of Clem and Annie Koblizek, lifelong farmers in the Corpus Christi area.
In 1964, Olga married Henery Songer, who was serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Corpus Christi. Together they raised Henery’s three children, Renee Songer, Robin Munsin, and Russell Songer. Their marriage took them across the world, including duty stations in Oakland, California, and Yokosuka, Japan, where they welcomed their son, William Songer. Later, the family lived in Beeville, Texas, before retiring in Corpus Christi.
Olga and Henery divorced in 1983, but life brought her love again when she married Kuo Chang “KC” Wang in 1988. With KC, she embraced another daughter, Sonia Wang-Chiu, and together they built a full and loving household. Olga and KC shared many years side by side, helping to raise children, working in their gardens, and enjoying the simple joy of each other’s company.
In her early years, Olga trained as a beautician and worked both in Corpus Christi and New Orleans. After marriage, she dedicated herself to being a housewife and mother, a role she truly loved. Known for her caring heart, she often looked after young children to help single parents while they worked. She later supported KC in running their family restaurants, Oriental Delight in Corpus Christi and Taste of the Orient in Humble, Texas.
Olga enjoyed yard work, especially tending to her flower gardens, as well as crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching Wheel of Fortune with KC. She was a woman of quiet strength, steady devotion, and unconditional love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Annie Koblizek; her siblings, Bertha Koblizek, Willie Koblizek, Julia (Cecil) Dunn, Henry Koblizek, Alice (Joe) Mulanax, Sophie Zimmerman, and Annie (Vlasta “Cubby”) Frazier; her first husband Henery Songer; her husband KC Wang; and her stepchildren Robin Munsin and Russell Songer.
She is survived by her son William Songer and his wife Norma, and her granddaughter Faith Songer; her daughter Sonia Wang-Chiu and her husband Fred, and their children Kenny and Samanta Chiu; and her daughter-in-law Rita Songer and grandson Mathew Songer. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and close, endearing friends, including Elva Flores, Jaime Reyna, Rachell Reyna, Natalia Reyna, Hanna Heasley, Collen, and Mary Kelly.
Olga’s life was marked by compassion, devotion, and resilience. She gave generously of herself to her family, her community, and the many children she cared for over the years. She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and joy by all who knew her.
