

He was born on January 16, 1969 and spent most of his young life in Riviera. He graduated from Orange Grove High School and immediately joined the United States Marines where he proudly served in Desert Storm.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Dora Garcia and his sister Sandra Garcia.
He is survived by his children Jarod, Justin (Jolene) and Jordan and seven grandchildren: Jaylene Marie, Maycie Jalaine, Kenzie Faith, Jarod Ryan Jr, Jaxon Kenedy, Jason Alexander, Joclyn’ Jo Marie all of Tucumcari, New Mexico.
He also leaves behind his siblings to cherish his memory: Rene Garcia (Cindy) of Annaville, Cindy Torres (Danny) of Hebbronville, Johnny Garcia of Orange Grove, Dora Cuellar of Victoria, Raymond Garcia (Corina) of Orange Grove and Bobby Garcia (Shanez) of Lusby, Maryland as well as many nieces and nephews.
Leonard was a man of few words. He enjoyed watching sports. He was an avid Astros and New Orleans Saints fan.
The family would like to thank his great friend BB Ramirez for all the years he served as his boss, roommate and friend. Also, he lifelong best friend Adrian Lopez whose memories of their friendship brought joy to us all. Adrian now has added memories of being at Leonard’s side during his last few weeks on earth. A big thank you to the entire team at Christus Spohn Hospice as well as the team at River Ridge Nursing and Rehab.
Leonard will be laid to rest at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi on October 11th at 1:00 pm.
