She was born on July 6, 1944 in Cabimas, Venezuela. She was the daughter of Pablo Subero and Angela Farias.
Julia was the youngest of four daughters. She was a devoted wife and mother. She married my dad, Raul Zambrano, in 1963, and seven years later they raised me as their only child. Julia and my dad’s journey together took them to live in several cities across West and East Venezuela as well as the United States due my dad’s work in the oilfield. They were married for almost 34 years until my dad passed away in 1997.
In the 1960s Julia became a nurse assistant and volunteered at the local public clinic in her hometown.
Julia loved her family, friends, cooking, parties, singing and dancing.
Julia was a wonderful cook. Cooking was her passion and she loved learning new recipes and delighting her family and friends with her delicious meals.
Julia was as determined as they come. When she wanted to do something, no one could stop her. She learned how to drive on her own by “borrowing” my uncle’s stick-shift beat-up Volkswagen Beetle while he was at work.
She was also very resourceful. She did whatever it took to get things done.
Julia enjoyed doing crafts in her younger years and my love for crafts comes from helping mom work on her projects together when I was a child.
Julia lived a full and meaningful life and she accomplished her life’s mission on this Earth.
Julia accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior on Good Friday in 2022.
Julia was preceded in death by her mom and dad, her sisters Carmen and Lina, and my dad Raul Zambrano.
Julia is survived by her daughter Milagros (Russell) Gibbs, and her granddaughter Cheyenne Gibbs.
We want to thank everyone who cared for my mom and who shared in our journey with her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
