Betty Sue was born on May 2, 1941, in Corpus Christi, TX where she grew up.
Betty Sue graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1959.
She worked for Guaranty/ Texas Bank, The Driscoll Foundation, Skid-O-Kan and The Dairy Council.
She was actively involved in Kings Crossing Church of Christ, Kings Crossing Prison Ministries, Red Hat Club and many other charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Denise and her parents Ollie and Gladys Chandler.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Swails, her brother Bobby Chandler and her cousins Charlotte Dunlap, Carol Ruth Decker and Robert Casey. She is further survived by her four stepchildren, Kelli Marie Swails, Bonnie Davis Schweinsberg (Chris), Adele Davis Balboni (Paul) and Thomas Davis Jr., nine step-grandchildren, Victoria Ferrell Mendoza (Alex), Cassandra Swails McAden Altenbern (Jeff), Darienne Adele Davis Jones (Chase), Gabrielle Helen Davis, William Thomas Davis, Philip Christian Schweinsberg (Jessica), Eric Heinz Schweinsberg (Ellen), Cristina Balboni Dickau (Jordan) and Alexander Paul Balboni, seven step-great grandchildren, Rena and Aurora Mendoza, Nova Altenbern, Nolan and Everett Schweinsberg, Halle and Gwen Dickau.
The family would like to give a special thanks to “Crystal” and "Alyssa" and all the staff at Angel Bright Home Health and "Demi" with River City Home Care for the care and compassion they showed Susie in her final days. And another special thanks to Leticia Anguiano, Sue and Tommy Blackstone, Kelli Swails, Victoria and Alex Mendoza, Janet and Terry Yarbrough and Len Clark for their continued support in her time of need.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at King Crossing Church of Christ at 5901 Yorktown on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Visitation and refreshments with the family will begin after the services in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor to Kings Crossing Prison Ministries, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Sunny Glen Children Home and Coastal Bend Food Bank.
