Born in Chicago and raised in Oak Park IL. Thomas and his siblings older brother Mark and younger sister Mary grew up in the Oak Park neighborhood, he truly cherished and loved them all his life.
Thomas attended Fenwick High School and Loyola University. The friendships he made during these years were truly life-long. He was adamant at maintaining these friendships throughout the years having regular contact by phone and email and always working to reconnect when he was back in the Chicagoland area.
Thomas led a full and complete adult life enjoying many years in Elmhurst, IL. raising a family and enjoying a successful career in Sales. Tom and Mary retired to Colorado Springs for 16 years and were very involved in the community supporting initiatives for the betterment of the city such as Meals on Wheels, homeless needs in the area working to link Community Organizations and Local Government, and supporting fundraising efforts for veterans.
In retirement he was a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus where he will be dearly missed by his Brother Knights. The Knights of Columbus he felt is truly a brotherhood as he was a 3rd generation member and an instrumental influence in his life.
His love for baseball was well known by anyone who knew him as he was an avid softball player where he enjoyed healthy competition and lunch with the boys every week weather permitting of course.
Happily married for 54 years, he and Mary were lively dancers twice a week in their retirement. They made wonderful and natural friendships with musicians and dancers with the same passion for life.
He was also a hiker and would hike with Mary multiple times a week enjoying the mountains and scenery of Colorado, his happy place. There was truly nothing better for him then to be around his family and friends enjoying the mountains and an ice-cold Coors Light!
His love for his two granddaughters is easily understood when you would see them together. The number of photos he had around the house as a daily reminder showed his love for them.
He will truly be missed however you may have known him - Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Brother, Confidant, Mentor, Friend, most importantly a gentleman with a great smile and laugh...btw don't forget the beer!
He touched many lives in a positive way and we truly felt that contribution by the messages we received for him in his final days. We are saddened by his passing and comforted by knowing he lived life to the fullest everyday.
