Mary Ann Sundberg

Mary Ann (Walden) Sundberg was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Susanne and Dillard Walden on September 1, 1947. She married Paul Sundberg in 1987 and blended their families together. Mom of Sean (Robyn) Roberts, Omaha NE; Chris (Michele) Sundberg, Severance CO; Shawn (Amanda) Sundberg, Crosby ND; and Ryan (Shawna) Sundberg, Shade OH. Grandmother to 13, and Great-Grandmother to 1.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Lebrun, Fort Smith AR; brother-in-law, Bob Sundberg; sister-in-law, Julie Korker; first husband, Terrence Roberts of South Carolina; and “protector” Frankie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Walden-Barnett; brother, Keith Walden; brother-in-law, Gary Sundberg; sisters-in-law, Beverly Frasier and Shirley Finley.

Mary Ann worked as an administrative assistant for CIBAR, TRW, El Paso County, and The Resource Exchange (TRE). Her most satisfying position was with The Resource Exchange as an intake coordinator. She retired in 2009.

In retirement Mary Ann was active in support organizations through zoom video and service office work. She enjoyed traveling and vacations to warmer climates with Paul. Her favorite was a tie between Sanibel, FL and Hope Town, Bahamas.

She battled 5 cancers in her life and finally succumbed to the most recent one on March 4, 2026 at Pikes Peak Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A Reception is to follow from 2:00PM-4:00PM.
