Jane Elizabeth Green

Jane Elizabeth Green of Colorado Springs passed away June 1, 2026, at age 81. Born June 25, 1944, to Howard and Carolyn Niswonger, she graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and the University of Colorado.

Jane began her career as an elementary teacher before dedicating herself fully to raising her family. She later returned to early childhood education as a beloved preschool teacher. During her years in Birmingham, Michigan, she was a committed parishioner at Christ Church Cranbrook, giving generously of her time to the altar guild and Clothes Closet outreach. In recent years she brought joy to the family business, Patsy’s Candy Kitchen, working six days a week in what she fondly called "quality control."

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Wesley Niswonger and Ann Niswonger Pounds, Jane is survived by her children, Matthew Green, Travis Green, Joshua Green, and Courtney DiBartolomeo; and her five grandsons and three granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25, at 11:00 AM at Grace Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs.
