William Robert Fuller

William Robert Fuller “Bill”, 77 of Chico, California, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2026. He suffered for several years with Parkinson’s disease. Bill was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed.

Bill was born in Oakland California and grew up in Carmichael near Sacramento. He graduated from La Sierra High School, Class of 1966; he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science in 1974 and a teaching credential from California State University in Hayward in 1978. After teaching middle school math and science in California, he went back to school and earned a Masters Degree from California State University in Chico in 1993. He practiced speech and language at several schools in California.

Bill met Molly while finishing his teaching credential in Hayward, 1978. They were introduced by a mutual college friend who made an appealing suggestion to Molly. “I know this cool guy you should meet, he has a great lizard named ‘god’. I’m having a birthday party for my daughter Rebecca and I want you to come.” It turns out Bill was curator at Coyote Point museum and he was caregiving a basilisk lizard named “Godzilla”. Bill married Molly in 1982. Bill passed just short of their 45th wedding anniversary.

Bill’s greatest love was music. He was a finger picking guitar player and singer. He loved folk songs in particular. He played at open mic’s throughout his life and various cafe’s and variety show venues. His favorite job of all was owning Monolith Music Store in Quincy California between 2000 and 2007. He sold musical instruments, did repairs, rented band instruments and sold all things associated with music. Work at his music store was a labor of love.

Bill is survived by his wife, Molly, his son Elliot Fuller (Karli) of Livermore, CA; and his daughter Alexis Fuller (Wesley) of Glendale, CA; and his beloved grandchildren, Milo, Henry and Louie. He was preceded in death by his parents Mo and Virginia Fuller and his sisters Geri and Debby.

A celebration of life will be held at Valley Oaks Village, 1950 Wild Oak Lane, in Chico on July 18, 2026, at 3:00pm. Ice cream, watermelon and snacks will be served. Music will be enjoyed by all in Bill’s memory.

It is with heartfelt gratitude for all of the caregivers who provided vital support in the last few years of his life. In particular the CNA’s and nurses at Oakwood, his physical therapist, Michelle Fowkes, Crystal Rodriguez, Tara Meyer, and the Passages Caregiver Support.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to Amnesty International or any local Public Broadcasting Station, in Bill’s memory.
