Melinda Renee Guichard

Melinda (Mindy) Renee Guichard was born March 15,1974 in Kansas City, Missouri. After a 12-year battle with breast cancer, she passed away July 14, 2025, at the age of 51 in her home, surrounded by friends and family.

Mindy was born in Kansas City but spent most of her childhood in Nebraska until her family moved to Stockton, CA when she was in the 6th grade. She attended Lincoln High School in Stockton and then graduated from Stanislaus State. For many years after graduation, she worked as a waitress at Garlic Brothers where she made some great memories and great friends. She met her husband, Nick Guichard in October of 2002. They were married in October of 2004. She taught at Greer High School in Galt until the birth of their first child. She became a devoted stay at home mom for their three children, Grant, Abbey and Evan. The family moved to Chico in June of 2012.

Mindy was a lover of travel. She loved to ski in winter and camp in the summer. She loved lake days at Bucks Lake. She was always ready for an adventure. Fitness was an important part of her life. She loved long walks on the levee with her dog, Crockett, and she was still walking miles right up until the end. A glass of wine with her beloved friends and family was always a must on the weekends. She talked to everyone and made friends wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Nick and their three children, Grant (19), Abbey (17) and Evan (16), her parents, Maurice and Sharon Penner and her brother Eric.

A service will be held at Grace Community Church on August 16, 2025, at 3pm with a reception celebrating her life following.
