Willis "Boyd" Russell

Boyd left the Army National Guard of 6 years before marrying Elaine on July 26, 1969. After retiring as a Health Care Executive in 2009, he had more time to spend with his family.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Elaine Purdie Russell of Cornelius, NC , by his son, Kevin Boyd Russell of Huntersville, NC , and by his daughter Beverly Russell Alwine (Robert) of Raleigh, NC. He was grandfather to his most adored grandchildren: Ryan Boyd Russell and Matthew Gantt Russell of Huntersville, NC . Boyd also leaves behind his sister, Vicki Russell Yoe ( Dr. Bill) of Columbus, Georgia, and their children : Jennifer Yoe Gaddy (Rick and their daughter, Aurelia) of Weaverville, NC , and Russell Morris Yoe of Atlanta, Georgia .

The family requests no flowers and to “pay it forward “ to anyone who needs a helping hand . Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region were the family’s Earthly Angels. They allowed Boyd to remain at home until his passing . A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the DUMC Chapel in Davidson, NC.
