William Dennis Bird

WILLIAM D. BIRD (Bill) (87) made it to the end of his life with his sense of humor and outgoing personality still intact. His body, however, finally gave up its struggle against the ravages of time and the damage from surgery on July 7, 2026. He passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family members.

Bill and his late wife Jane ran a very successful family business together in Pleasantville, New York for 25 years. Being the unforgettable individual he was, Bill will be remembered for many things, including his gardening expertise, his fondness for scuba-diving, his lifelong love of poker, and his avid adherence to all things Apple. But mostly, he will be remembered by his family as a doting grandpa, a generous father and a devoted husband to Jane.

Bill is survived by his three daughters, Cindy Yount of Newton, NC (with whom Bill lived since early 2025), Andrea Bird of Framingham, MA, and Denise Szollosi of Glenwood, NJ; and by his grandsons Thomas and David Hebb, Lee Yount Jr, and Steven Szollosi.
