Thomas Wesley Caudle

Thomas Wesley Caudle "Tom" age 81, died peacefully at home after a long battle with dementia on April 20, 2026. Born on August 17, 1944, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Tom most recently resided in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Jonathan Wesley Caudle and Faye Loraine Cochran Caudle, and his daughter, Weslyn Caudle Herman.

Tom was an avid golfer, loved camping and was a proud alumnus of East Tennessee State University, graduating with a degree in engineering. He started his career teaching math and shop class. Since he could never stay in one place long, he worked as a contract aerospace engineer ultimately retiring from Boeing.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Caudle Harper (Jeff); his brother, Jonathan David Caudle (Lisa); his sister, Deborah Faye Caudle Kite (Tim); grandchildren, Brooke Avery Plitt (Charlie), Taylor Lyn Herman (Julia), Cole Thomas Herman, Matthew Jeffrey Harper, Jonathan Lee Harper (Mariana); great-grandchildren, Alice Elizabeth Harper and mother Maggie Elizabeth Smith, Charlie Williams Plitt IV; son-in-law, Thomas Herman, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date in Asheville, NC.
