Born on August 10, 1939, in Buffalo, New York, Sally lived a life filled with purpose, curiosity, and an unwavering determination to explore the world while inspiring others along the way.
Sally’s professional career reflected her intelligence, ambition, and pioneering spirit. As a successful businesswoman, she broke barriers and established new standards through her work and leadership. Her extensive travels and innovative thinking allowed her to bring countless ideas to fruition and positively impact those around her. Recognized for her expertise and insight, Sally built a rewarding career as an HR consultant, where she became a trusted advisor and mentor to many. She also shared her wealth of knowledge as an accomplished author and lecturer, touching the lives of countless individuals through her teaching, guidance, and professional influence.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sally possessed a deep passion for the arts. She was a gifted painter and artist who found joy, peace, and self-expression through her creative work. Above all else, Sally cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Cabbell, and her cherished grandson, Benjamin Gallichant, whose memories remained forever close to her heart.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her extraordinary legacy: her daughter, Cheryl Trenhaile; her son, Charles Ratledge; her stepdaughter, Diana Cabbell Cohen; and her stepson, Michael Cabbell. Sally was a proud and devoted Nana to five grandchildren and a treasured “Super Nana” to six great-grandchildren. Each carries forward her legacy of love, resilience, passion, and perseverance.
In accordance with her wishes, Sally will be laid to rest at sea — a fitting tribute to her lifelong love for travel, boundless horizons, and the adventures life offered. Her spirit, strength, wisdom, and compassion will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Sally’s life was a beautiful testament to exploration, creativity, resilience, and grace. Her memory will continue to inspire family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
