Ronnie William Aldridge (Ron), 74, passed away on Friday September 18, 2026 in Charlotte, NC. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Donna Quick Aldridge, son Ronnie G Aldridge (Sarah), daughter Jessica L Aldridge, granddaughter Allie Aldridge Cordner (Spencer), grandson Ryan G Aldridge (Sunshine), great grandson Noah Cordner, great granddaughters Rowan, Ava, and Solstice. He also leaves behind his brothers Kenny Aldridge (Vicki) and Keith Aldridge (Sandra), plus many nieces and nephews and special friends, Rene and Lupita, Brandon, Santiago and Luna. He also leaves behind his furbabies, Sadee, Archee and Jaxx. He loved them so much and would play ball with Archee for hours in the back yard. He is also preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Ron retired from the US Air Force as a major. He entered the service as an airman and worked his way to major before retiring. He was proud of his service as was his family and always said, “the two best things I ever did was marry a nurse and going into the Air Force. “
He traveled with his family during his service across the USA and in the Netherlands and Germany. Those were some of the best times of his career.
We got to visit Costa Rica and had the absolute best time of our life, even thought of moving there at one time.
Ron loved music. Played the drums and guitar. He loved singing Karaoke at Bogue Sound Distillery. He loved everyone there and we met some great friends. He never thought he played well but I and our family thought he was the best. He would take his guitar on family trips and play, while we all sang (or pretended to). He ran a music shop in Ogden, UT and later Brigham City, UT selling CDs and vinyls after retiring from the AF.
After Ron decided to retire fully, he traveled with his wife on her trips as a Regional Nurse with an Assisted Living company, being her chauffeur and ‘bodyguard’ (he would say). We had a great time seeing parts of the US that we would have never seen. He would always say, he enjoyed those times.
We also loved going on our Friday night date to Plaza Mexico in Jacksonville (waitress Diana) and Don Congrejo’s (waitress Katelyn) for his Modelo Especial and wife’s Margarita. It was our way of celebrating the end of the week and unwinding. We love the staff at both restaurants, couldn’t ask for better friends.
He loved his family so much and we were looking forward to moving closer to them next year. He will be so missed by all that loved him.
Ron wanted to be cremated. As a family, we are planning a Celebration of Life in Utah later. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Colonial Capital Humane Society in New Bern, NC or your local Humane society in Ron’s name.
