Richard Stanley Hocking Richard Stanley Hocking, 80, of Troutman, NC, formerly of Hamburg, NJ, passed away Saturday, November 12, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville NC, surrounded by his family. Richard was born October 2, 1936 in Hamburg NJ, to the late Cora and Stanley Hocking. He was employed at Ames Rubber Corporation as a Lab Technician for 36 years. He retired in 1990 and moved with his family to the Carolinas. He was a member of the Statesville Model Flyers. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Elaine; sons, Gary Richard and wife Cathy, of Mooresville, NC and Jesse and his wife, Stephanie, of Sherrills Ford, NC; grandchildren, Karli and Kelsey Richardson and Ayden and Emily Hocking; a sister Betty Willis and Husband, Jeff, of Branchville, NJ; a sister-in-law Janice Hocking of Sussex, NJ; as well as nieces, nephews and to many friends to list. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Thomas Hocking and his sister Coralie Thomas. A special thank you to the staff at Lake Norman Medical Center in Mooresville NC, the ambulance squads and Gordon Hospice House for the care and compassion they have shown. Cremation arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Charlotte. The family will have an open house memorial at the Hocking home in Troutman at a future date. A donation to the Troutman Fire and Rescue Squad, Perth Road, Troutman NC, 28166 or the Hamburg Fire Department, 1 Wallkill Avenue, Hamburg NJ, in memory of Dick would be appreciated.
