Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended St. George High School and graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He received his masters degree from Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
He is the father to Michael, Thomas, Patrick and Joseph ( who died in 2014). Grandfather to Timothy and Abigail. Also loved by step children Karen Schutt Thomas and Gary Schutt and grandkids Brian and Joe Thomas.
He worked in the computer systems at Hoffmann LaRoche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley, New Jersey for over 25;years. In his retired years he worked for BOCES in Sullivan County. He met and married Linda in 1992.
One of his Pride and joys is his home in Forestburgh New York which he built with his four sons and their friends who would travel up to the country and camp out in the woods and build this cabin in the woods on 5 acres. After a days work, they would go swimming in a nearby lake. Dick so loved that place.
After being a snowbird for two years, he and his wife Linda moved permanently to Cornelius in 2016 . They joined the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lake Norman where they found so much love and friendship. Donations can be made to UUFLKN P.O. Box 991, Davidson, NC 28036. ( Building Fund)
