It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nanette Joyce MacLellan, who left us on January 1, 2025, at the age of 83. Nanette was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, counselor, minister, spiritual guide, student, teacher, and volunteer.
A woman of many talents and accomplishments, Nanette’s early years in Las Vegas saw her thrive as a cocktail waitress, model, and showgirl. She later earned a BA in Fine Arts from California State University, Fullerton, becoming an accomplished multimedia artist. Nanette also served her community as a Parks and Recreation Arts and Crafts instructor, where she shared her passion for creativity and enriched the lives of many.
Known for her fierce independence, quick wit, and sharp sense of humor, Nanette approached life with a positive and uplifting outlook. She was a good listener and an eloquent speaker, admired by many and respected by all. Her wisdom, kindness, and compassionate spirit left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
A proud daughter of Isis and keeper of wise woman ways, Nanette was a guiding light and spiritual mentor to those around her, imparting strength and insight throughout her life.
Nanette will be dearly missed by her only son, Steven R. MacLellan (62), and her only granddaughter, Samantha R. Johnson (38). Her legacy of love, wisdom, and creativity will continue to inspire those who knew her.
