Mary Jacoby, born on June 11, 1929, in Lakewood, Ohio, has peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, grace, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Kominek and Anastasia Dombrosky Kominek, her siblings: Lucille, Larry, and Henry Victor Kominek, her beloved husband, W. Paul Jacoby, Sr., and her dear son, David Jacoby.
Mary's journey through life was marked by her dedication to education and family. She attended St. Clements Elementary, Lakewood High School, and Bowling Green University in Ohio. On July 16, 1949, she embarked on a lifelong journey with her husband, Paul Jacoby, at St. Clements Church in Lakewood, Ohio.
Throughout her life, Mary had the opportunity to reside in various places, including Lexington, KY, Lakewood, OH, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Alexandria, LA, St. Petersburg, FL, Elmhurst, IL, Sanford, NC, Peoria, AZ, and Charlotte, NC. Together, Mary and Paul shared 45 wonderful years filled with love and companionship.
Mary will be fondly remembered for her warm hospitality. Her passion for cooking and entertaining brought joy to the lives of many. She found pleasure in playing bridge and golf and enjoyed visiting with friends.
Mary's unwavering faith in the Catholic Church was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother.
In her final days, Mary received exceptional hospice care that brought her comfort and peace.
The funeral mass will be held Monday, November 20th at 10:00am at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2141 Lancashire Ave, Louisville, KY 40205.
She is survived by her children: William Paul Jacoby, Jr. (Rhoda), Patricia Levine (Noel), and Jeff Jacoby; her grandchildren: Becky, Wil (Amanda), and Meghan (Chris); Stephanie and Scott (Gaby); Shannon and Jason; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Luke, Amelia, Jesse, Liam IV, Hanna, Ella, and Addie; and David’s wife, Kaye.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association or VIA Health Partners who provided Mary very caring hospice services (www.viagiving.org/one-time-giving). Mary's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of love and kindness will be cherished forever.
