Born on January 28, 1943, to Isaac Easton Haggard and Alice Rose Haggard in Lexington, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, Joseph H. Fereno Sr., who passed away in 2018. Together, they lived in Florida, Indiana, and Michigan before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1997. After Joseph's passing, Loretta moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family.
Loretta was known for her infectious smile and undeniable Southern charm. She had a heart as big as her personality, never meeting a stranger, and her warmth was felt by everyone she encountered. She was a compassionate soul, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone. A spirited woman who relished competition, she loved playing games and found great joy in the thrill of gambling, especially during her years in Las Vegas.
Loretta thrived in the restaurant and retail industry, working diverse jobs and always staying busy. As a homemaker, Loretta delighted in cooking for her family and friends. Her love for music was evident, and she could often be found dancing to her favorite tunes. Loretta was also a devoted animal lover, particularly fond of horses and birds. Horses held a special place in her heart, and she would seek every opportunity to be around them. Her parakeet, Blue, was a cherished companion, and she enjoyed watching wild birds and squirrels from her home. Loretta had a great appreciation for the arts, particularly enjoying the music of Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline, and admiring the acting talents of Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro.
Loretta will be remembered for her sunny disposition, her laughter, and her vibrant spirit. A true extrovert, she brought light and joy to all those around her. She was dearly loved by her family and friends, and her presence will be deeply missed.
