

Martin “Brendan” Coyne passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Ireland on October 28, 1973, Brendan carried with him a deep sense of heritage, heart, and humor that shaped the way he loved, worked, and lived. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and a steady, caring presence in the lives of all who knew him. His warmth and generous spirit touched countless hearts, and his legacy will live on in the many people he loved and supported throughout his life.
Brendan is survived by his beloved wife, Judith “Jodi” Coyne, who was his partner and best friend. He was the deeply proud father of his son, Brendan, and his daughter, Rylee, who were the greatest joys of his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Coyne; his sisters, Rosemarie (Paddy) Sheanon and Ann Margaret (Francie) Gargan; and his brother, Terrence (Michelle). Brendan leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including many nieces and nephews who adored their uncle and will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his father, Martin Terrence, and his father-in-law, Robert Thomas Brichta, and his nephew, Padraíg Cargan Gargan.
Brendan built a respected career working as a Superintendent with DH Griffin. He was also a proud member of Local Carpenters Union 1556 NYC and Local 147 Sand Hogs. His dedication to his work, strong work ethic, and loyalty to his colleagues and friends were a true reflection of his character.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthews in Charlotte on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM sharp. A Memorial Mass will be held on February 27, 2026 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 409 E 241st Street, Bronx, New York.
Those who knew Brendan will remember his humor, kindness, his quiet strength, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved. His family and friends take comfort in knowing that the love he shared will continue to live on in their hearts.
