Mario Hugo Cruz of Charlotte, NC, died January 25th, 2024 at the age of 67 years. Mario was born May 21st, 1956 in Puebla, Mexico. He enjoyed playing games of all varieties, puzzles, tinkering, van camping with Gina and Mabes, spending Sunday with the Bears, and spoiling his dog. Mario was known for his booming voice, animated storytelling, colorful adages, and his ability to fix anything. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by wife Virginia (Gina) Cruz of Charlotte, NC; son Tony of Denver, CO; daughter Jess (Aaron Riggs) of Waterloo, IA; brothers Ed and Sergio; and sister Rosemarie. He was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and grandfather of many fur babies. He was preceded in death by father Jorge, mother Alma, brothers Al, Ernie, and Geo, and sister Sandy.
