Madeline was born to the late Winford Ross Stover and Orpha Jane Covey on February 22, 1949 in Beckley, West Virginia.
She taught elementary school and history in middle school and high school. She completed her 39 year career as a Guidance Counselor in Prince William County Virginia.
Madeline had many hobbies and fun activities. She loved traveling to beautiful places like the beach and mountain parks. She was especially fond of church activities like teaching Sunday School and working on church committees. At home, Madeline would knit and read books with her book club. British mysteries were her favorite.
Maddy was the gentlest and kindest person. She loved her church, her children, visiting foreign countries and Dairy Queen Blizzards. Any one who met Maddy loved her.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Snyder of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter, Johanna Dryden (Brian) of Stafford, Virginia; one son, Ben Snyder (Johanna) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Mary Ann Lagos of Manassas, Virginia and Janet Shirey of Lewisburg, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Fern Snyder and a host of other relatives, family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 8th at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Belmont, 807 S Point Rd, Belmont, NC 28012.
An Inurnment Service will be held on Friday, May 12th at 2:00 pm at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Hwy, Manassas, VA 20109
