He was born in 1943 at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his dad Emil R. Kocurek mother, Annie Krkoska Kocurek, and stepson Roy Edison Morris. Eddie is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary F. Kocurek, and daughter Brenda Kocurek Brown (Richard Brown), both of Farmville, North Carolina, as well as stepchildren Kay F. Evans of Farmville North Carolina, Louis Edward Morris Jr., and Lisa Michelle Etheridge both of Elizabeth City North Carolina.
Eddie's great joy was serving his country first in the United States Navy (12 yrs.) and then in the United States Army retiring in 1983. A significant highlight of his service career was achieving Chief Warrant Officer in the United Army while stationed in the TTU on the island of Terceira, Azores (1976-1978).
Eddie had several interests, including ships, bowling, fishing, reading, and various other sports, he also adored Western. Eddie was a member of the Greenville (N.C.) Church of God.
Eddie's burial arrangements will be held later as he will be buried at sea.
