Charles Phelan Price was born in Trenton, Tennessee, on January 23, 1941. He graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, and the University of Memphis with a business degree. After college, he spent 3 1/2 years serving our country in the US Navy, and 2 years in the US Navy Reserves. In 1968, he went to work with the HJ Heinz Co and married his sweetheart, Judith Gayle Bowen. Charlie was an extremely loyal man as evidenced by his 34 years with Heinz and 55 years with Gayle. He fathered Kristy Irene Johnson in January of 1971, and Ashley Price Hartle in April, 1973. They were the apples in their father's eyes.
Many wonderful, healthy years followed, filled with travel, sports and love. His love for life was evident to anyone who met him. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He was LOVE, and lived that love until his last breath. His legacy to his wife, children, and grandchildren is present in each of our lives. Nana-Papa camp for 15 years helped develop the grandchildren into loving, accepting young people, all driven in their own directions. Each of our paths have been influenced, and made better, by having Charlie as our husband, dad and Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Irish price as well as his brother Jesse Franklin price.
He’s survived by his wife,Gayle price, daughters Kristy Johnson and Ashley Hartle (Steve Hartle), and 4 grandchildren; Gabriel Johnson in Vermont,Trevor and Brayden Hartle in Colorado and Annalise Johnson in Arizona.
Our hearts have a huge hole from this loss, but we know that he is once again whole. Charlie, we love you. Charlie's remains will be entered at the Nash Fort Logan cemetery on October 21, 2024.
