

Sharon Ann (Fisher) Stevens of Castro Valley, CA passed away on Thursday, April 16th, 2026, at the age of 83. She was born on February 7th, 1943, at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. At a young age the family moved to Albany, CA. After a few years in Albany the family moved to Castro Valley, CA, where she was living when she graduated from Castro Valley High School in 1960. Her lifelong love of reading started early as she volunteered as a library helper from 1958 to 1959 as part of her Girl Scout Service Project.
Following high school, Sharon attended San Mateo Junior College where she met Richard Stevens whom she married on November 3rd, 1962. They settled in San Lorenzo, CA, and in 1963 they welcomed their son Richard, and in 1964 their daughter Cathleen. As a wife and mother, she enjoyed volunteering in the PTA, Brownies and Cub Scouts. An accomplished seamstress, she created everything from kindergarten blankets and Halloween costumes to graduation and special occasion dresses. As the children got older, she started working at various companies over the years, mainly focused on bookkeeping and HR. She retired from the Carpenters Training Committee in 2010. In retirement, Sharon and Richard were actively involved in the NorCal Mini Club, and enjoyed various trips including to Hawaii to visit her goddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Stevens, father John Fisher, and mother, Ruth Fisher.
She is survived by her son Richard (Patricia) Stevens, daughter Cathleen (Vic) deOrnelas, brother John (Carol) Fisher, sisters Sydonia Fisher and Opal (Parry) Lawson and brother-in-law Kenneth Stevens, in addition to beloved nieces, nephews, goddaughters, extended family and friends.
