It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Anthony Jamin, beloved husband, dad, grandfather and friend. Tom died at home on September 8, 2023, in Cookeville, Tennessee, at the age of 77. His death has left a deep void in our lives, and his memory will forever be cherished.
Born on September 6, 1946, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Tom led a remarkable life filled with accomplishments and cherished memories. His unyielding dedication to family and unwavering commitment to his values were his defining qualities, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Tom was a man of precision and brilliance, exemplifying the virtues of a true perfectionist. With meticulous organization, he touched the lives of all who knew him, becoming the hero of his children and leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Cherishing his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years, Dianne, and their children, Holly, Cheree (and James) Metro, Tommy (and Emily) Jamin. A loving grandfather, Tom held dear and was deeply proud of his six grandchildren, Kate, Abby, Olivia, Addie, Finn, and Ellie, who will forever keep the funny, kind and caring spirit of their grandfather close. He treasured each and every precious moment shared with them.
In addition to his immediate family, Tom is survived by his brother, Paul, and sister, Mary. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Catherine and Frank Jamin, and his sister, Gail.
Tom attended Dixie Hollins High School before embarking on a distinguished career in the Navy, where he proudly served his country. Following his honorable service as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, Tom brought a sharp mind and strong work ethic to design robotics and circuitry at Martin Marietta (formerly General Electric). He later launched his own company, Cardinal Circuits, Inc. His passion for aviation took him skyward, and his skill, knowledge, organization and steady confidence were shared with and admired by his many clients, students and friends. His flying career included corporate piloting, flight instruction and air fleet management.
Tom was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pinellas Park, Florida, from 1970 to 2000. His dedication to the community found at Sunday morning masses exemplified his character, steadiness and high moral values for all those who knew him.
Beyond the realms of work and duty, Tom found joy in many hobbies and pursuits. He raced sailboats, golfed, traveled, competed in clogging competitions, flew his daughters' girl scout troops, built and piloted radio-controlled planes with his son, coached his kids' sports teams and cheered on his grandkids in theirs. He also occasionally took to the open road with Dianne on one of his three precisely maintained and beloved blue Harley-Davidsons.
Tom's memory will forever be held dear by all who had the honor of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and unwavering dedication that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Memorial Service to commemorate Tom's life will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on April 22, 2024, at 10 am.
