Sue Ann (Totten) O'Brien

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sue Ann O’Brien, who left us on 9/4/2026 at her home in Hartsville, TN due to complications from dementia and old age. She was born on 5/8/1944 in Logan, West Virginia to Marguerite and Kenneth Totten.

She loved animals, especially her pets, sitting on the porch and watching the sun come up, decorating her home for holidays and taking care of the family members and pets she deeply loved.

She was a beloved wife/parent/grandparent, touching the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and a no-nonsense sense of humor.

Sue Ann is survived by her daughters, Karen Koura of Stockton, Ill, Cindy Gregory and husband Gary of Lebanon, TN, her primary caregiver for the past 4 years and granddaughter, Briana O'Brien, 3 other grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, who will cherish her memory and continue her legacy.

Sue Ann is preceded in death by her husband Carl, of 64 years and her parents.

Sue Ann’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date for family and friends.

In honor of Sue Ann’s memory and our commitment to finding a cure for dementia/Alzheimer’s and other brain dysfunctions of the elderly, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Non Profit Dementia Society of America.
