Shirley Jean Bodnar

In Memory of Shirley J. Bodnar April 11, 1935 – September 24, 2017 Shirley J. Bodnar, Age 82, died peacefully on September 24, 2017. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Bodnar; foster parents, Holbrook and Muriel Stevens; and son, Robert R. Jeanfavre, Jr. Survived and already immensely missed by daughter, Debra (and Bob) Read; and stepdaughters, Tracy (and Michael) Motuzick, and Robin Koscis. Shirley also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she truly adored. Shirley (“my mom”), was loved by everyone; she made lifelong friends very easily. After her cancer diagnosis, my mom was not fearful at all. She said, “It is because Jesus is in my heart, and I know where I’m going!” She continued to exude her radiant smile and positive attitude throughout the entire journey. God gave my mom confidence in the knowledge that even better days were ahead in Heaven! As her daughter, I take comfort in knowing that my mother is now in a better place, and that it will never be “good bye” … it is “see you later, mom!”
