He is survived by his wife; brothers, Robert (Bent) Hofstetter, James (Cindy) Hofstetter, Christian (LeeAnne) Hofstetter, stepdaughter, Debra McCarthy and three granddaughters, Gracie, Gertie and Jenica.
Oscar was a native Nashvillian, he was the son of the late Oscar and Virginia nee Litterer Carson Hofstetter.
Oscar attended Father Ryan High School, Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, and Nashville School of Law. He entered the family law firm of Hofstetter & Hofstetter where he practiced until he retired.
Oscar belonged to the Collectors of Moon and Stars Pattern Glass Society, The Sons of the American Revolution and The Sons of the Confederate Veterans. His passions included genealogy, Nebraska football, and soccer.
Oscar has been an active member of East Brentwood Presbyterian Church where his background in classical history often added context to the Sunday School classes. Oscar will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, and charitable nature.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 22, 2023, 11:00 AM at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church with a luncheon (menu selected by Oscar) to immediately follow.
