Michael Lewis Chesney Jr., age 31, of Antioch, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. He was born on March 28, 1992, in Knoxville, Tennessee to Michael Lewis Chesney, Sr. and Brenda Faye Thompson Chesney. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Lewis Chesney, Sr.; grandmother, Shirley Tate.
Michael is survived by his mother, Brenda Chesney of Antioch (Steve Erickson) of Antioch, Tennessee; grandmother, Harolyn Thompson of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandfather, Joseph Leo (Emma) Thompson, Sr. of Elizabethtown, Tennessee; god-mother, Jacqueline Bruce Elliott of Asheville, North Carolina; aunts and uncles, Felice (Terry) of Enterprise, Alabama, Glenda "Aunt Goosey" Thompson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Joseph Leo "Puddy" Thompson, Jr., Carmen (Chester "Spike") Wrushen of Memphis, Tennessee, Juan Carlos (Leann) Thompson of Morristown, Tennessee, Doris Davenport of Knoxville, Tennessee and Deidre (Mark) Carvin of Knoxville, Tennessee, Nakia Nene Holloway of Knoxville and Ashante Bailey; a host of cousins and friends who are considered family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday May 6, 2023, at the New Destiny Christian Fellowship, 1134 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, TN 37217 with Dr. Vernal Sweeting Host Pastor and eulogist, Pastor Marcus Sweeting of Restoration Life Church.
Michael was a loyal and devoted friend, who would give the shirt off of his back. He never met a stranger and devoted himself to make the world a better place. Michael left this world better than he found it, which is evident in the lives he changed. He was a loyal and hardworking employee, who was known for his word that was golden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nashville Resue Mission, Habitat of Greater Nashville and/or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
