Luanne was preceded in death by her parents, Louie L. Davis and Lorene “Jerry” Davis. She was survived by her only sibling, Linda T. Davis, who passed away on May 28, 2022. Luanne and Linda were very similar, yet different in many ways, as sisters tend to be. Linda was the older sister by 12 years but their lives were interwoven throughout the years. They lived in Tennessee as young children until their family relocated to Texas for their father’s work. While living with their parents in Dallas they both developed a lasting love for authentic Tex-Mex food, the kind they said you could only find in Texas, never in Tennessee. Their family slowly migrated back to Nashville, first their parents, then Luanne and finally Linda. For many years Linda and Luanne lived in the Nippers Corner area, around the corner from each other. They lived their last years together, having moved home to care for their ailing father after their mother’s unexpected death in 1998. A family of true bibliophiles, their home was filled with books of all genres. When they were not reading, you might find a classic movie playing on the tv. Artistic souls, they loved nature, animals and creating. Luanne was an incredible cook with a love for sharing full course meals with family and friends. Linda’s passion for knitting was, as she put it “a small problem” as she filled the house with skeins and skeins of yarn. Both retired as legal secretaries, having keen minds for legal issues and legendary opposing political views. But it was their shared generosity of spirit and kindness to others which will long remain with those they left behind. Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum, Nashville, Tennessee.
