Linda Campbell Nunnally, 74, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Linda was born in Petersburg, VA to the late Gloria (Jackie) Merritt Sullivan and the late Clinton Campbell. She graduated from Thomas Dale High School (Chester, VA) in 1966.
Linda was a creative and administrative master who lent those talents to her work at schools in Pelham, AL and Coral Springs, FL, to her work over many years at Indian Springs First Baptist Church (AL), and also to her volunteer work with Dixie Youth Softball. She was inducted into the Dixie Youth Softball Hall of Fame and over the span of 39 years, she served in various roles for the organization including coaching for many years in Pelham and serving as an officer for both the Alabama and Tennessee organizations. Linda was an amazing cook, had a generous spirit, and a big heart. She loved her family above all else and always put them first. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Carl Luther Nunnally, Jr. Linda is survived by her daughter, Stacy Nunnally and her husband Joel Wright of Murfreesboro, TN; aunt, Edith “Edie” Merritt Goyne of Huddleston, VA; cousins, Loretta Hitchcock (Tommy) of Chester, VA, John Goyne of Huddleston, VA, and Dan Goyne (Lynn) of Charlottesville, VA; sisters-in-laws, Anne Wilmoth (Danny) of Huddleston, VA and Kay West (Joe) of Wilmington, NC; one niece and three nephews; and other family and friends. Linda was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law Grace Nunnally and father-in-law Carl Nunnally, Sr.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Warehouse located at 730 Middle Tennessee Blvd, Suite 14 in Murfreesboro, TN 37129. An interment ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 17 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.
