Those who encountered Kenne were instantly met with a personality larger than life. His life experiences spanned being a steel guitar player and studio musician, with Meteor Records during the prime of Rockabilly in the Mississippi River Delta, alongside legends such as Sam Phillips, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley. He also played with Ernest Tubb, and later with Eddie Bond, as one of the original Coca Cola Cowboys. He supplemented his musical earnings as a Private Investigator in Memphis, Tennessee, which culminated into a joint production by HBO and Thames TV (UK) about the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He retired to Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida in 1998, where he and wife, Margaret, began a new chapter in their lives as hosts and friends to international guests of their water front resort, Fairhaven Estate. His second retirement in 2015 took him to Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, where he enjoyed performing and playing music with friends, old and new. No matter where he found himself, his love of music was interwoven through his entire life.
Kenne and Margaret’s final move was December, 2024, to Story Point Senior Community, Cordova, Tennessee.
Kenne was always active in support of his community and church. Most recently, he was an active participant of Hillsboro United Methodist Church in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.
