Jeannette Boucher Riel

Born on March 29, 1943, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Jan was the second daughter of Cleophas and Leona Boucher, who preceded her in death. She spent much of her life in her hometown of Manchester, New Hampshire, and several years in Connecticut with a job transfer, before moving to Tennessee in September 2003, where she remained close to her family.

Jan is survived by her three children: Steven Riel of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Michele (Harold) Bell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and James Riel of Manchester, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Megan (Chad) Joines, Rebecca (Andrew) McGowan, Christopher Riel and Zachary Riel, as well as her great-grandchildren, Jenna Joines, Mallory Joines, Maeve McGowan, John McGowan, Edie McGowan with two more great-grandchildren expected to join the family soon.

She is also survived by her sister, Theresa Poirier of Connecticut; her nephew, Scot (Helen) Poirier and her great niece, Jessika (Tony) Hatchell.

Those who knew Jan will remember her as a feisty, strong-willed woman with a resilient spirit, through life’s joys and challenges, she placed her faith in the saving grace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While dementia gradually took much from her earthly life, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer bound by the limitations of her physical body. They rejoice in the assurance that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and celebrating in the presence and glory of God. Her family relishes the fact that she is experiencing pure joy, complete healing, and eternal peace in the presence of God.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date in Manchester, New Hampshire.
