April 2, 1947 – February 8, 2025
With much sadness, we announce the passing of Holly Christine Ivy, who peacefully left this world on Saturday morning February 8, 2025, at the age of 77. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, cherished for her compassionate heart and selfless devotion to her loved ones.
Holly was born on April 2, 1947, in Manchester, CT, to Stanley and Elin (Nielsen) Mason. She spent her early years there with her parents and two brothers, Bruce and Ronnie, before the family relocated to Tennessee when she was eight.
Family was Holly’s greatest joy. She met the love of her life, David Ivy, at a school dance when they were just 15 years old. They married in September 1967 and built a home filled with love, laughter, and music. As a devoted mother to Shayne Ivy and Sarah (Erich) Ritzhaupt and a proud grandmother to Sabian Ivy, Ivan Ritzhaupt, and Mason Ritzhaupt, she embraced every moment with warmth and unwavering support. Her grandsons loved and adored their “Grandma Holly.”
Holly was her family’s north star—a guiding light whose presence brought comfort and joy. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, from taking scenic drives with David to admire the autumn leaves to exploring antique stores along the way. One of her favorite places was Siesta Key Beach, where she vacationed annually with her family and enjoyed the view of the Gulf from a cabana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruce Mason. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David Ivy; her children, Shayne Ivy and Sarah (Erich) Ritzhaupt; her treasured grandsons, Sabian Ivy, Ivan Ritzhaupt, and Mason Ritzhaupt; her brother, Ronald Mason; as well as nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
No formal services are planned at this time, but a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Holly’s honor.
Holly will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
Rest peacefully, dear Holly.
