I met Charlie in pine ridge park. He told me great stories, invited me over, gave me copies of all their recordings which I’m listening to now. Really nice man and I got to live less than a block from a legend.

Reunited with Bud and Pauline again. Rest well, friend.

Just hearing about Charlie's passing. We saw him in Hickory, NC over thirty years ago. They played two shows that night and our group paid twice to stay for both shows! I love GCS music! Thanks Charlie!

Wow, i just learned of this today….While playing guitar a guy was doing a song and made the statement that he’d lost a musical influencer….. Charlie Gearhart….. wow, my head exploded! Im 68 and have be listening to Goosecreek since 13 . At the time they only had 3 albums and didn’t appear to be anymore comming.  Years later i was in Atl and had met a girl that was an internet whiz ( new then) i ask her to see if the old albums were avail and if so get em all. Well to my surprise she got em all and said that she took the liberty of getting the new one……i was excited to find out that there was NEW music, and even more that they were playing GOTL annually…..we wen to the next 2…. Met the guys(so easy)! We also saw them several times in Nashville @‘Lawrence Settled bar…. Charlie Signed My Acoustic & Perl signed my strat….. They are one of only a handful of bands whos music never gets old ….. if im down, i plug in Goosecreek and my blues go away……My deepest Condolences to the Wife and Family & Friends….. i loved Goosecreek….. First listened to Charlie and the Goose in the summer of 1973. The music was amazing! Saw the band live twice. Incredible! As Charlie would say, "That's enough".

I want to thank charlie and all the members of goose creek for giving me soo many lovely memories. I think, i heard them for the first time when i was 5ish...and they stuck with me for my life so far. Thank you charlie, godspeed.

What are we going to do 20 years from now when the corn won't grow?  Fell in love with all these guys back in the Vancouver days. Rest in peace.

I'm from Virginia and I've seen Charlie & Goose Creek Symphony when they were in the area. Greatest Band Ever! So Sorry to hear of Charlie's Passing.

I discovered Goose Creek Symphony in 1972. Through the years I saw them per about 40 times even being present when they recorded their live album. Charlie became a friend who inspired me and changed my life for the better. I hadn’t talked to him the past few years but he was always in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn and the family. RIP Charlie until we meet again.

My heart is full of wonderful memories of listening to Charlie and the Goose Creek band, and singing so many of his songs during years on the road with our band and then in Arkansas and other places. But like so many others, my heart is sad over his departure from this dimension. But we'll meet again in that better place on high where music will swell with the same kind of energy and love that came from Charlie's songs. God be with the Gearheart family.

So goes another of my classmates from Mesa High 1957. I always liked him and his performances on the stage in class assembly. The last time I saw Charles (I never called him "Charlie") was when he was taking out a marriage license in Phoenix and told me he'd just put out "The Great Duane."

Charlie sang of a place called Goose Creek. But it was more than a place. To me it was a state of mind, a place of love, kindness. A place where my soul danced to the sounds of guitars picking and fiddles playing. where I could see the trees on the hillside in the moonlight. Thank you Charlie. You and the boys have made this world a happier place.

I had the privilege of meeting Charlie and the band at several performances in Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio from 1990 to 2000.   The music that he and Pearl wrote and performed changed my life for the better.  For that I am truly grateful.  My deepest condolences to Mama Goose, Travis and the entire GCS family. ....Until we meet again!

Sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing, prayers for the family. I met Charlie a couple times years ago first time after a show he came up to me introduced himself and started a conversation. A fan since early 70’s.

I enjoyed the times I got to see them play and afterwards conversations with him and the rest of the band always made you feel like an old friend whether they'd known you for years or just met them. Such a great loss 😔 prayers for family and all the friends he made throughout his career. RIP Charlie
