

Born in Nashville Tennessee on October 4, 1942 and married to Claudette Hensley Cullen, Billy lived a vibrant life. He has a proud Marine and served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1960-1964. He spent most of his career as a commercial truck driver and was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union. He served as President of Joint Council 88 from 1998-2004 and President for the Teamster Local 480 chapter for 2 terms. He spent the remainder of his retirement serving in the local Shriners International chapter where he primarily transported local children and their family to a Shriners Children's location for treatment. Billy was known for assisting those who were disadvantaged or in need of an advocate, and made this his lifelong mission.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife Claudette, and by his siblings Jerry, Patricia, and Brenda. He is survived by his only son Tracy Darrell Cullen and wife Daniela, his sister Regina Orman ( David) and sister in-laws Debbie Lawrence ( Johnny), Faye Hayes, Cynthia Madden, and brother in law J.D Wallace. He is lovingly remembered by many nephews and nieces.
Family, friends, and others are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on July 1, 2026 from 10 am to 1 pm at St. Philips Episcopal Church- Dimmick Hall located at 85 Fairway Drive, Nashville, TN. 37214. There will be Military Funeral Honors given by the USMC as a portion of the ceremony.
