I was saddened and surprised to hear that Wally had passed. I only got to know Wally well in the last couple of years. We had Saturday morning coffee every couple months. I am grateful for the brief moments we shared.  Wally was kind, soft spoken, a great listener, and a good honest man. I will continue to think of him often.

Wally  and I grew up together. We were both born in North Carolina when our dads were on an MK job back there. Wally was born 6 mos. before me. Years later we lived across the street from each other. We played sand lot football and baseball cowboys and Indians. I’ve known Wally  literally all my life.  He was more like a brother to me than a friend. He lived out his dream in life. He always wanted to fly airplanes and that’s just what he did. He was a marvelous pilot. Flying practically every thing from prop planes to jet fighters. He was a very good corporate pilot for many of the big companies head quarteredin Boise.

This picture was taken in 2014, he took me on a ride In the Memphis Belle, truly a treat!

Wally and I were both military pilots and had associations with Morrison Knudsen. We were members of a pilots' fraternal organization and I enjoyed talking to him. He was calm, quiet, and always ready to jump in and help where necessary.  Have a great trip West, Wally. We'll miss you.
