Steven Gregory Benson

Steve grew up in the Boise/Meridian community. He attended St Theresa’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic schools and finished his education at Borah High School. He served our country as a Medic in the US Army while stationed in Korea. After returning home, he remained in the medical field as a CNA, EMT and worked for the American Red Cross and other non-profit organizations.

He dearly loved all of his many kitties over the years. He played the best Santa ever at PetSmart and other holiday parties. Steve also loved music (especially Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley) and he worked as a DJ with JoAnn’s help for many years. They also shared many nights performing Karaoke He loved singing more than anything and always pleased the crowd. Steve Is also remembered for his love of baseball. He always had such an extensive command of baseball statistics and loved sharing his knowledge.

He is survived by his wonderful companion and best friend of 22 years JoAnn Bull, his brother Bob Strong, sister Carol Donaldson, 3 daughters Stephanie, Jennifer and Becky who he loved so very much as well several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

He will be buried with Military Honors at the Boise VA Cemetery. His Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later time.
