Mary Jo was a devoted mother who raised her three children—Mike Valento, Steve Farrell, and Darla Wind-on her own in West Seattle. Her life was marked by resilience and determination as she balanced the demands of family life with a successful professional career. She began her working life as a waitress before transitioning to a role as a bank teller at Seafirst Bank in Seattle. Through hard work and dedication, Mary Jo advanced her career at KeyBank, ultimately achieving the position of Vice President of Commercial Loans. Her professional accomplishments were a testament to her perseverance and steadfast commitment.
In pursuit of her career, Mary Jo relocated to Boise, Idaho, where she lived in the same cherished home for over 30 years. She was an active member of her church community and served in various ministries, embodying her faith through service and devotion.
Mary Jo found joy in simple yet meaningful pursuits. She was an avid reader with a particular love for science fiction and a passionate gardener who took pride in tending to her garden. A dedicated sports fan, she supported the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks with enthusiasm and pride, holding season tickets for many years for both teams from their inception.
Mary Jo's ashes have been interred at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, Idaho, where she will rest in peace.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her. May her legacy of faith in Jesus, along with her love, strength, and determination, bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
