I am so so sad to just be learning of Dr. Jarrell’s passing. I just learned to follow up with him that his office is closed, and that is how I learned of his passing. Dr. Jarrell was my surgeon for 2 different procedures. He was so meticulous and so thorough and instilled so much confidence in me with every step along the way. I loved his dry sense of humor and the crayon box that he showed up to my surgery with! Haha. My partner, who is also a physician, commented several times that he was a perfectionist is his craft and we both felt such confidence in the care I was receiving. His MA Brandi was so kind and everyone at the office was wonderful. What a huge loss to our medical community! To his children and wife, I’m so sorry for your loss. John was a great man. He was my intern when I was a medical student and we went through our surgical residency and part of his fellowship together; cutting our teeth on Memphis surgical trauma. Great man, excellent teacher/ surgeon/ mentor, and a wonderful father. A huge loss personally and professionally to the community he served, but I will remember his dry humor and wit; I was blessed to know him.

I was a colleague of Dr. Jarrell. He was well respected in our community of Boise plastic surgeons for excellent results and happy patients. He was someone who I could trust to care for my patients when I was away.   He will be missed.

I can't say enough how devastating the loss of Dr. Jarrell is. He was one of the most kind physicians I've ever met. He was such a skilled plastic surgeon, but beyond that, he genuinely cared for his patients, and made me feel so safe and confident in what my results would be. I've thought about how amazing his office is as a whole so many times over the last year and a half, have told so many friends to book an appointment with him, because he truly made an impact on me with his care and knowledge. I'm so sad he left this earth so soon. Sending my hugs to his family and his amazing nurse Brandi. I'm so sorry for all. Rest in Peace, Doc...you'll be missed by so many!

Working with Dr. Jarrell for the last two years as his medical assistant was a blessing. The most kind, patient, and skilled Dr. and surgeon. I will always remember his wonderful sense of humor. He was the salt of the earth. He made me feel equal and important everyday. I'll miss being able to ask him questions. He was always a book of knowledge, and took the time to explain any thing I was curious about. He was the most patient and kind doctor to his patients. Certainly one of a kind. My sincere condolences and prayers to the Jarrell family.

Dear Family - I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I remember us playing together as children. He was younger than me and we didn't live in the same state, but when I would visit Aunt Sally and Uncle Joe in the summers we would have fun swimming in the lake behind his grandmomma's house (my aunt), floating on air mats, trying to avoid the geese, and getting burnt to a crisp. Those were the days no one wore sunscreen and didn't worry about a little sunburn. Ha. Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't keep up with John as an adult. One thing he and i loved together, was soccer. we both loved playing soccer together.

I am saddened by the news of Dr Jarrell 
He was nothing short of a perfectionist in his field. He cared about his patients and I am forever grateful for his support and compassion during my cancer journey. I was grateful that I was able to cross paths and meet him. I met him in the winter of 2018 and he continued to take my calls and fix my issues for several years. Had my last surgery with him in the spring of 2022.  Rest in Peace Dr Jarrell 

Prayers for the Jarrell family!!

The most wonderful doctor I’ve ever met. So kind and compassionate.  The biggest gift to me through my journey with cancer. I know that he is in heaven now and in peace.

He always said to the world that the John A Jarrell's were going to stop with him, and then John A Jarrell V, showed up.  What a lovely pair!

Skiing was his favorite sport to do, specially with Gaby his dare devil girl on the slopes.
