Jeanette Ethel Hickman

Jeanette E. Hickman, “Jean,” born on March 23, 1931, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 93 in Eagle, Idaho. Jean has been warmly welcomed home by the LORD and her late husband, Raymond, who passed on November 24, 2022, with Jean lovingly by his side.

Jean and Raymond shared a marriage of nearly 75 years, which continues to inspire others with true love and commitment. The couple met through ministry with The Salvation Army. Our family finds solace at this time of year as we see the red buckets and hear the ringing bells, reminding us to continue to be of service to others.

Jean leaves behind three children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. While we miss her greatly, her legacy, full of generosity and humor, lives on. Our family gathers as we reflect on the countless ways she touched each of our lives.

Jean will be laid to rest at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho, alongside her late husband, Raymond, and their late grandson, Ray Castell.

While you may not have known Jean personally, we believe her spirit of giving lives in each of us. We hope this encourages others to “Keep the Pot Boiling.” After all, you never know who you might meet with a simple act of kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, reflecting Jean’s lifelong dedication to service.
