April 1, 1934 – April 21, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Faye Jane Simpson Ewing announces her peaceful passing at the age of 92 years old.
Born on April 1, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Faye was a beacon of love and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. The daughter of Leo and Pearl Simpson, Faye, was predeceased by her loving parents, her brother Herbert, her sister Cleo, her beloved husband of 64 years, S. Earl Ewing, her son Robert W. Ewing, grandson Michael Aaron Smith, and granddaughter Robyn Ewing. Her legacy, however, lives on in her surviving family, which includes 6 devoted children: Leo Earl Ewing, Pamela Irene (Lance Arave), Michael Steven, Deborah Jane, Sharon Renee (Dana Normoyle), and Karen Faye (Michael Smith), 25 cherished grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended family and dear friends.
Faye married the love of her life, Earl, on July 5, 1949, in El Paso, Texas. Together, they raised seven children in a home filled with warmth, wisdom, and unyielding love.
A woman of remarkable faith, Faye dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her service included roles as Relief Society President, in the Primary Presidency, Young Women Presidency, and countless other positions where her leadership and compassion shone brightly.
A woman of many talents, Faye was a natural gardener, an accomplished seamstress, and a gifted oil painter. Her artistic touch extended to her kitchen, where she was known for her exceptional culinary skills. Faye's dinners were legendary, and her home was always open, offering a warm welcome and her famous tacos, fried chicken, Sunday roasts, and a seemingly endless supply of homemade breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies. Faye was celebrated not just for her talents, but for her character. Her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to many, while her kindness and selflessness provided comfort and solace. She had a rare ability to make everyone feel genuinely loved, and her deep love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, guided her life. Her example of quiet grace and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Ancora Hospice. Their kindness and devoted care for Faye were deeply appreciated. Each individual treated her with the love and respect befitting a cherished grandmother, and for this, the family is forever grateful.
Faye Jane Simpson Ewing's life was a testament to love, service, and faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
