Elva Jean Hartman

Our beloved wife and mother, Elva Jean Hartman, passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Medford Massachusetts on August 15th 1931. Grew up in Massachusetts until moving to California in 1962. Elva was the daughter of Jack and Mabel Leah Kimberley from Stratford on Avon, England. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brother Jack Kimberley and son, William Brian Hartman.

Elva is survived by husband, William Hartman, son, Jeffrey Hartman (Dawn Hartman), daughter, Kimberley Hartman-Wittmayer (Ted Wittmayer), grandchildren, Wade Hartman (Katie Hartman), Conner Hartman, Benjamin Hartman, Bailey Hartman, Corey Wittmayer and Abigail Wittmayer. Also Great grandchildren, Briggs Hartman and Beckett Hartman

Elva was married on February 9, 1952 to William Alfred Hartman and they had 72 wonderful years together. They lived in Massachusetts until 1962 when they moved to Livermore, California. This is where they raised their children and made many life-long friends. Elva worked for the Livermore school district, working as a teacher’s aide in elementary schools and also for a time at Granada High School. She was involved in Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Needle arts groups, and raising her children. Moving to Roseville, California in 1995, where they enjoyed a wonderful retirement, living on a golf course and having wonderful neighbors who they spent many years traveling and socializing with. In 2020, they moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to daughter, Kim.

One of Elva’s favorite places to spend time was on the beach. Whether it was on the East Coast or the West Coast, the ocean was her happy place. She always loved children and would light up whenever they were around.

The family would like to thank Cornerstone Senior living and Keystone Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
